ROGERS TAKES “LET’S GET TO WORK” SERIES TO MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN MACOMB
Talks bringing back jobs, investing in skilled trades, and supporting workers.
WHITE LAKE, MI — Army veteran, businessman, and Trump-endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate Mike Rogers today released the next video in his new series, “Let’s Get to Work!”
The video features Mike Rogers at the Macomb County manufacturing facility, Metalbuilt, where he worked machinery on-site. He then sat down with the owner and her son, who works at the facility, to discuss the importance of bringing back jobs, investing in skilled trades, and supporting workers across the state—especially through no taxes on overtime.
This video is the latest in what will be a regular video series, showing Mike Rogers across the state, working on farms, at manufacturing facilities, and in diners as he discusses the benefits of the Working Family Tax Cuts. Last week, Mike Rogers launched the series with a video at Green Pastures Farm in Coopersville with family farmers who expressed their support for raising exemptions on the death tax.

MIKE ROGERS: Hey, we’re in Macomb County, here at Metalbuilt. We’re going to go inside, talk to some employees, see what great work they do—not only for the state, but for the nation. Hey, Michigan, let’s get to work!
MIKE ROGERS: Well, thanks so much for taking us through the plant today. It’s a woman-owned business—manufacturing. Got to meet your great employees. Tell us a little bit about the company and what you do here.
MATTHEW MCCORMICK: We’ve been around for about 20 years now. We are Metalbuilt. We do prototyping and low-volume production stamping, and fabrications.
MIKE ROGERS: And tell me how you’re doing on the regulatory. We talked a little bit about how regulations can kind of work against what you’re trying to accomplish here.
MATTHEW MCCORMICK: There’s a myriad of certifications and regulations that come along with that that have a really significant cost to small manufacturing businesses. That can add up to tens of thousands of dollars each year—just to renew your certifications.
MIKE ROGERS: That means that’s money that’s not going to a bonus. That means money coming, they can’t pay them an extra buck an hour. All of that happens. It has an impact.
MATTHEW MCCORMICK: It’s very hard to find skilled labor in our world of manufacturing. So, any type of incentives that we can offer in our industries, I think it’s huge for retaining talent and attracting talent.
MIKE ROGERS: That’s why we’ve got to fight so hard to get these jobs back. Keep these jobs. Allow you all to compete and grow.
SHERRY MCCORMICK: Yes.
MIKE ROGERS: And part of that is getting the government out of the way. And do you think it’s going to be helpful having someone in the United States Senate that understands manufacturing?
SHERRY MCCORMICK: Yes.
MATTHEW MCCORMICK: Absolutely.
MIKE ROGERS: Who can make a part in the plant?
MIKE ROGERS: Thanks, guys. I really appreciate it. Thanks for having us.
MATTHEW MCCORMICK: Yeah, absolutely. Thank you.
SHERRY MCCORMICK: Thank you.
MIKE ROGERS: Appreciate it.
