PRESIDENT TRUMP GRANTS ROGERS’ REQUEST FOR DISASTER AID IN NORTHERN MICHIGAN
WHITE LAKE, MI — President Trump on Friday granted $100 million in assistance to northern Michigan following requests from U.S. Senate Candidate Mike Rogers. The aid will support critical recovery efforts after the historic ice storm that wreaked havoc across northern Michigan in March 2025.
The storm struck 13 counties, causing extensive damage to homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure. Hundreds of thousands of residents were left without heat or power. But with this assistance, Michiganders will get the support they need.
“I’m grateful to President Trump for, once again, delivering for Michigan, and to Congressman Bergman for leading the charge to get this done. This $100 million in aid will support critical recovery efforts all across northern Michigan and provide meaningful relief to the over 100,000 Michiganders who’ve been impacted by the historic ice storm,” said Rogers. “Michiganders are already wrestling with record high utilities increases–at a rate higher than 46 other states–thanks to the Democrats’ reckless policies. Families should not have to shoulder the burden of additional price hikes or extensive power outages due to the storm. This relief is one of many wins to come as we continue the fight to support working Michigan families!”
