The Detroit News Editorial Board Endorses Mike Rogers for Senate

In case you missed it, The Detroit News’ editorial board gave a clear and forceful endorsement of Mike Rogers to be Michigan’s next U.S. Senator.

The Detroit News described Rogers as an “exceptional candidate” and commended him for sounding the alarm early on China, his advocacy for restoring America’s military strength, and his commitment to improving Michigan’s economy and literacy rates.

“Rogers was always among the best and brightest of Michigan’s political leadership corps, and remains so today…

“In Congress, he raised an early alarm about China’s vast intellectual property theft operation and its ambitions to use stolen information to gain economic dominance. He has relentlessly pushed both the private sector and government to better protect America’s high-tech and engineering assets…

“The advantage of sending Rogers, a Republican, to the Senate from Michigan for the first time in 22 years is it would broaden the state’s influence in the chamber and better reflect the interests of a purple state…

“Mike Rogers is an exceptional candidate for the U.S. Senate. Michigan voters should send him back to Washington as their next senator.”
