TEAM ROGERS REFUSES FOX 2 DEBATE DUE TO MODERATOR BIAS

DETROIT, MI – Team Rogers released the following statement on refusing to attend the Fox 2 Detroit TV debate due to concerns with the moderator’s bias and favoritism.

“Michiganders deserve to see their candidates engage in a healthy, fair debate — not one compromised by media bias. Roop Raj has made his position clear, from praising Abdul as ‘brilliant,’ to being celebrated by Hasan Piker as ‘my GOAT,’ and bragging about his political stunts. Mike looks forward to making his case to working families and to making Abdul answer to voters for the conman he is.”

— Alyssa Brouillet, Communications Director

Mike has a long record of participating in public debates and has already committed to a WOOD TV8 debate moderated by Rick Albin and a WXYZ-TV Channel 7 debate hosted by Chuck Stokes. This is the same schedule the campaign used in 2024.

Regardless, Roop continues to conduct himself in a manner that is inconsistent with the level of gravity required to moderate a debate for the number one U.S. Senate race in the country. If there’s a gubernatorial debate or any other statewide debate Roop is hosting, we must’ve missed it. Roop continues to prove he is far more focused on clicks than creating a fair atmosphere for voters to listen to both candidates.
