ROGERS WELCOMES VP TO MICHIGAN, EMPHASIZES THE STAKES HAVE NEVER BEEN HIGHER

MONROE, MI – Army veteran, former FBI street agent, former House Intelligence Chair, and candidate for U.S. Senate Mike Rogers today welcomed Vice President J.D. Vance to Monroe, Michigan. In his remarks, Mike emphasized that the stakes have never been higher than in this election and highlighted Abdul El-Sayed’s lies to cover up his family’s dangerous ties to terrorist organizations.

“I am Mike Rogers – husband and father, Army officer, special agent with the FBI, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Thank you for being here. You probably have heard some news about my opponent in the last week, so I say it's time to have a serious conversation.

Abdul El-Sayed cannot be allowed anywhere near the United States Senate. He is the most extreme, dangerous candidate to ever run for the United States Senate in the history of our country, and we have to stop him right here in Michigan. He is lying about his ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

The IRGC, the Iranian Republican Guard — that is the enforcement mechanism for the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world — which he refuses to condemn, is telling Americans to vote for Democrats like El-Sayed. Think of it: the IRGC telling you to vote Democrat for guys like El-Sayed. Well, I know you won't listen. Some of the other folks we got to work on a little bit. The Muslim Brotherhood celebrated just one candidate's primary election. Just one. You know who that was? Abdul El-Sayed. Front page of their newspaper, celebrating his primary win when he won. Why are they only supporting one candidate, Abdul El-Sayed? In college, Abdul was a member of the Muslim Students Association, a feeder organization for the Muslim Brotherhood. In 2012, he signed a letter supporting the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, which called to ‘purge the media and the police.’ He's your candidate for the United States Senate. Let me rephrase that. He is a candidate for the United States Senate. Abdul's immediate family openly talks about their close involvement. His sister said, ‘My family has long been Muslim Brotherhood.’ Just yesterday, Abdul refused to acknowledge his family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood for the second time.

If you think about what's at stake in this election, and you think about the things that have just happened, people who fund his campaign fund the Muslim Brotherhood, his family and ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. He has lied about that. As a former FBI agent, I can tell you this: we used to call that a clue. We brought receipts, Abdul. What we know for sure is that Abdul El-Sayed does not belong anywhere near that United States Senate.

If his sympathy for terrorists and terrorist organizations isn't bad enough, Abdul wants to have you pay more for just being an American. We already have the highest utility rates in the Midwest, thanks to the Democrats. They passed a Green New Deal, a mini Green New Deal in 2023, that drove our utility rates through the roof. Now, Abdul wants to add a new energy tax that will increase utility bills by $2,000 a family. Yeah, you're right. He also wants to add 20 cents to the cost of every gallon of gas. You're good about your gas going up? You cannot afford Abdul El-Sayed, and we certainly cannot risk his dangerous ideology in the United States Senate.

Michigan was once the envy of the country. We can get there again, but we can't do it alone. With your help, we're going to get our kids reading at grade level again. We're going to make housing more affordable, so every Michigander can achieve the American Dream. We're going to bring back those 200,000 manufacturing jobs that the Democrats chased out of our state and overseas. And we're going to make sure that our kids have the tools to succeed to achieve their dreams right here in the great state of Michigan. Yeah, you bet. You bet.

So I hope you guys are ready. It will take every single one of us. This is the fourth quarter. We're in the red zone. Every voter needs to go vote. If you have your ballot, turn it in. And grab a friend or two, and bring them to the polls. This is about the heart and soul of the country. When you think of what's at risk on this ballot for this election, there is no other option but victory, faith, family, freedom. Let's get this done. Let's win for the country. We're going to win.
