ROGERS MAKES CAMPAIGN STOPS IN DETROIT & PONTIAC, DISCUSSES FIXING MICHIGAN’S EDUCATION CRISIS

DETROIT, MI – Army veteran, former FBI agent, former House Intelligence Committee Chairman, and candidate for U.S. Senate Mike Rogers today made two campaign stops in Detroit and Pontiac to discuss his plan to get kids reading again.

In Detroit, Mike spoke with members of the press after visiting with students, alumni, and tutors involved in the Beyond Basics reading remediation program at Cody High School. He emphasized the importance of fixing the education crisis that has left 3 in 5 Michigan third-graders unable to read at grade-level.

In Pontiac, he visited with community members to hear how places like Pontiac have been left behind and to discuss his plans to fix the issues residents are facing. He particularly shared his solutions to lower housing costs, fix Michigan’s education crisis, and deliver for every Michigander — regardless of zip code.
