ROGERS LAUNCHES “BUILDERS,” OUTLINES PLAN TO BUILD MORE HOMES AND LOWER HOUSING COSTS
Seven-Figure Ad Buy Launches in Detroit Media Market, Highlights Rogers’ Plan to Cut Red Tape, Expand the Skilled Trades and Build More Affordable Housing Across Michigan
DETROIT, Mich. — Army veteran, businessman, and candidate for U.S. Senate Mike Rogers, today announced the launch of his newest television ad, “Builders,” backed by a seven-figure ad buy beginning in the Detroit media market.
Filmed alongside Michigan tradesmen at a residential construction site, “Builders” highlights Rogers’ plan to tackle Michigan’s housing affordability crisis by making it easier to build more homes, cutting unnecessary government red tape and training the skilled workforce needed to get the job done.
For too many Michigan families, the dream of owning a home is becoming increasingly out of reach. Rogers believes the solution starts with increasing the supply of affordable housing — and that means getting government out of the way of builders, expanding the skilled trades workforce and making sure Michigan has enough carpenters, electricians, plumbers and other skilled workers to build the homes Michigan families need.
“We need to train more builders, and fire more bureaucrats," Rogers says in the ad.
“Michigan families are working hard, doing everything right, and still finding that owning a home is slipping further out of reach,” said Mike Rogers. “We don’t need more government bureaucracy driving up costs and slowing down construction. We need to build. That means cutting red tape, training more skilled workers and making it easier to build affordable homes in communities across Michigan. My dad taught shop class, so I know the value of learning a trade. As Michigan’s next Senator, I’ll fight to train the next generation of builders, lower the cost of housing and put the American Dream of homeownership back within reach for working families.”
Following the release of his previous ad, which vowed to put shop class back in every Michigan high school, Rogers’ plan connects Michigan’s housing shortage with the state’s need for more skilled workers. By expanding access to skilled trades education and bringing shop class back to schools, Rogers will help prepare young Michiganders for good-paying careers while growing the workforce needed to build more homes and strengthen communities across the state.
The seven-figure television buy will launch first in the Detroit media market, with the ad also running digitally.

Hear that? That's the sound of the American Dream.
I'm Mike Rogers. My dad was a high school shop teacher, and he built our family home with his own two hands.
As Michigan's senator, I'll invest in the skilled trades and put a shop class in every high school.
I know how to lower housing costs. Let's train more builders and fire more bureaucrats.
I'm Mike Rogers, and I approve this message because Michigan outworks everyone.
