MIKE ROGERS ANNOUNCES FOUR-KEY PLAN TO UNLOCKING HOMEOWNERSHIP
Making housing affordable again for working Michigan families
WHITE LAKE, MI — Army veteran, businessman, and Trump-endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate Mike Rogers today announced his plan to make housing more affordable and unlock homeownership for Michigan families.
“Nothing is more foundational to the American Dream than owning your own home–it’s where you raise your family, build childhood memories, and become part of a community. But for too long, too many families have been priced out of homeownership altogether. I hear it on the road all the time,” said Rogers. “And when Michiganders come to us with problems, our team comes back with solutions. It is hard to pay your bills, pay your taxes, and pay for a house. We’re going to fix that. This four-key plan will be a game-changer for unlocking homeownership for Michigan families. We’re going get more families into homes, get them into those homes earlier in life, and make those homes more affordable.”
Mike Rogers announced the plan during a Tuesday press conference at ABC (“Associated Builders & Contractors”) Southeast Michigan, along with the following speakers:
Keith Ledbetter, President of ABC Southeast Michigan
Evan Burdick, College student
Maria Polsinelli, Southeast Michigan Chamber Vice President
John Johnson, Southeast Michigan Chamber President
Claire Imbrunnone, Realtor
Dawn Crandall, Executive Vice President of Government Relations for Homebuilders Association of Michigan
Mike’s four keys to unlocking homeownership for Michigan families include the following:
Assisting with down payments by expanding 529 savings accounts to housing
Lowering interest rates by allowing families to build credit for timely rent payments
Bringing down purchase prices by ending crippling overregulation
Encouraging new home construction by adding incentives for homebuilders
