LET’S GET TO WORK: ROGERS WORKS COUNTER AT LOCAL CHESTERFIELD BAR, TALKS NO TAX ON TIPS

WHITE LAKE, MI — Army veteran, businessman, and Trump-endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate Mike Rogers poured pints and talked no tax on tips with the owner of local Chesterfield bar, Biggs Bar and Grill. This campaign stop is yet another example of how while Mike’s opponents cater to their far left base and stump with antisemitic left-wing extremists, Mike Rogers is talking with Michiganders about the issues impacting their daily lives.

This video is the latest in Rogers’ Let’s Get to Work series, which showcases various highlights of the historic Working Families Tax Cuts. In the series, Rogers works at diners, on farms, and in manufacturing facilities across the state to talk with Michigan workers about their experiences and how they personally save thanks to the tax cuts.

MIKE ROGERS: Hey, we are at Biggs Bar and Grill in Chesterfield. Going to go inside, see what makes this place so popular. Hey, Michigan, let’s get to work.

Well, we’re at Bigg’s with Mike, the owner, who has been here for–

MIKE VENDITTI: Going on 25 years.

MIKE ROGERS: 25 years, that’s amazing. Well, I got a little chance to spend some time with your staff–wonderful people.

MIKE VENDITTI: Thank you.

MIKE ROGERS: Love being here. They love the folks, you know, your customers. Tell me about the trials, tribulations. Owning this business, I mean, this is a hard business.

MIKE VENDITTI: It’s definitely a hard business. Just the constant grind. The constant grind of things can wear you down.

MIKE ROGERS: Oh, I bet. You have a bad night, you’ve got to get back up and do it again.

MIKE VENDITTI: You have got to get back up and do it again. You just get it done.

MIKE ROGERS: How about the regulatory environment? How’s that? All of that government regulation doesn’t make your job easier.

MIKE VENDITTI: Does not. Does not make our job easy at all. Initially, always have a partner that you have to please. And the partner that you have to please is your state, local, and federal government. That can be tough sometimes.

MIKE ROGERS: When you look at some of the tax advantages that came out with the Working Families Tax Cut bill, waitresses and servers are going to do pretty well with that–with no tax on tips. Is that a good thing for them?

MIKE VENDITTI: Absolutely. Any time that you can give them a little breathing room and lessen the burden of their taxes, is huge.

MIKE ROGERS: We have not been paying attention to small business owners and people who are working for a living and what taxes and regulation does to them and their cost of living. We’re going to change that with your help.

MIKE VENDITTI: Well, good. I appreciate it.

MIKE ROGERS: Thanks for letting me ruin one beer on the pour.

MIKE VENDITTI: I think you did a fine job.

MIKE ROGERS: I got the second one pretty good.

MIKE VENDITTI: Good.

MIKE ROGERS: Mike, I really appreciate it. Thanks for all you do. Good luck here. Can’t wait to get back and have some lunch or dinner.

MIKE VENDITTI: Thank you.

MIKE ROGERS: Thank you, sir. Appreciate it.
