ROGERS CALLS TO PROTECT GIRLS’ SPORTS
WHITE LAKE, MI — Army veteran, businessman, and Trump-endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate Mike Rogers today spoke at a press conference in Monroe on protecting girls’ sports. The press conference was held by House Candidate Laura Perry in front of the Monroe Courthouse.
In September, a boy, who identifies as a girl, competed on an Ann Arbor-area high school volleyball team against a Monroe high school. The Monroe parents and student athletes were not notified that this player would be competing and only found out after the fact. A lawsuit has since been filed.
“Protecting girls’ sports is common sense. But the Left insists on waging war on women and girls, and on leaving parents completely in the dark –as we saw right here in Monroe. We have to shut this nonsense down,” said Rogers. “This isn’t about politics; it’s about maintaining safety, privacy, and fairness for young girls. As Senator, I will work with President Trump and our leaders in Lansing to protect girls’ sports and spaces.”
Mike Rogers was accompanied by the following speakers:
Laura Perry, Candidate for HD 31
Sean Lechner, a student athlete’s father
Jim Desana, State Representative
Rylee Linting, State Representative
Will Bruck, State Representative
Jamie Thompson, State Representative
Joe Bellino, State Senator
