ROGERS ON FOX & FRIENDS: LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW ABDUL

DETROIT, MI – Army veteran, former FBI street agent, former House Intelligence Chair, and candidate for U.S. Senate Mike Rogers today joined Steeve Doocy at Four Corners Diner in Romeo, Michigan on Fox News’ Fox & Friends to answer Michiganders’ top questions and make a final pitch to voters.

WATCH THE FULL INTERVIEW HERE.

On His Final Pitch to Voters:

“I have an opponent who wants to represent Palestine. I want to represent Michigan. We have a lot of challenges here, and we're going to get it done. We're going to bring prices down. We're going to get our kids reading again. We're going to get defense industrial base [manufacturing] back to Michigan again. We're going to get kids into houses earlier than 40 years old. So we have a great opportunity. But I tell you, this is about the heart and soul of America. Get out and vote.”

On Democrats for Mike Rogers:

“Well we’re going to win, number one…People should listen to the people who know Abdul. The former Democrat chairman [of the Democrat] Party of Michigan, came out and said, ‘I can't vote for Abdul.’ The finance chairman for Elissa Slotkin, our Democrat U.S. Senator, just came out and said, ‘Not only can I not vote for Abdul, I'm voting for Mike Rogers.’ And so you start thinking about the coalition of the people who know him best saying he is too extreme for the United States Senate. We ought to listen to those people and vote.

His Muslim Brotherhood ties are very, very concerning. He's a DSA-aligned candidate. He goes right down the list. He wants to open the borders, give them IDs, and put them on Medicare. You start thinking about the thing he says he's going to do and how much that's going to cost us. I mean, we cannot afford Abdul El-Sayed's policies, and we can't risk his ideology.”

On Gas Tax Relief:

“One of the things I've called for is a gas tax holiday until the Iran conflict gets wrapped up. And it will get wrapped up, which will bring prices down. Here's the thing you need to remember. The state said yes, let's do it. The Democrats, just a couple years ago, raised the gas tax 20 cents a gallon. We asked for a tax holiday that would have been 70 cents a gallon. If you're commuting, that's real money. The problem is the Democrats in Lansing said no. They said it would hurt families to lower your costs. Now, if you can figure that one out, you let me know. I haven't figured it out. The other thing is, just remember when the conflict is over, those prices are coming down because all the structural side of bringing prices down has been happening for the last couple of years. We just got to get through that. That's the way I would do it: as a gas tax holiday temporarily.”

On Data Centers:

“I think there's so many questions we have to get answered. That's why I've called for a moratorium. Make sure it stays local control. I don't think they should take that to the state. I think that would be a mistake. They did that with wind farms and solar farms. You saw where that got us. So, I would do that, and then make sure we get the questions answered on water usage. They have to show up with their own power. They can't charge you for that. And here's what the other one I added on there: if a community decides they want [a data center], every dollar that that data center generates in tax revenue has to go to defray their property tax in the community of which it's located. Don't let the government grow by whatever amount those things do — if you decide you want one in your community.”
