ICYMI: MIKE ROGERS ON FIXING WHAT THE DEMOCRATS BROKE
Emphasizes change election during Mackinac Policy Conference
In case you missed it…Army veteran, businessman, and Trump-endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate Mike Rogers today joined the Mackinac Policy Conference to discuss how he will fix everything the Democrats broke during their single-party rule over the past 32 years.
On fixing the state:
“We’re going to fix education. We’re going to make sure that your kids can stay here. We’re going to make sure that we attract those manufacturing jobs. To me, that’s worth fighting for.”
On this being a change election in Michigan:
“We’ve been doing the same thing over and over again for 32 years in the United States Senate. We send two people of the same party who think the same way, they talk the same way, and they’ve been voting the same way. We’ve got to change that. In the last 8 years, we’ve had the same party in charge. And you see the cost structures that went up and the cost to every person’s wallet. I look at it and say this is the change election.”
On how Democrat failures killed auto jobs:
“In Michigan, think about it. We’ve lost 30,000 manufacturing jobs in the last 8 years. We have lost defense industrial base manufacturing. We used to have an air base, and a substation, submarine tracking station. We used to build submarine components. We used to build under 700ft ships in Michigan. We used to build the main battle tank. All of that’s gone. Still happens in the United States. None of it happens here.”
On stopping China from threatening Michigan’s auto industry:
“The biggest existential threat to the United States automobile industry is China producing cars in the United States. Full stop. We can’t let that happen. We have to remember something一and I’m a free enterprise guy一but China does not want to make a profit by building cars in the United States. They want to supplant the United States’ ability to produce automobiles in the world.”
